Incredible India = the SUPER rich +the HAVE's +the HAVE NOT's

Watched an international TV show ,point being mentioned was  India is likely to be fastest growing economy in the world , ahead off China  too ! , however in the same breath , they said that the gap between the have's and have not's  is quite large still ,

And this story has been like this for ages , hasnt it been , while changes have happened , structually the  bottom of the pyramid  is not shrinking and bulging at the middle belly , its the head which is bloating still and that means the rich seem to be getting richer still .

India's  super richest class is estimated to be  approx 10 % of population  hold 75 % of the country wealth , which is mind boggling a stat , the pareto principle shudnt apply here , right !

the latest structure of the pyramid is as above , while the figures are a bit of a suspect , lets go with it for the time being .

any developing nation will have this disparity in sections of society  , the question is whether we are fast tracking  inclusion at  all levels of the society , especially at the bottom of the pyramid,

  • in India  this difference is quite understandable too as around 50 % of our population is still dependent on agriculture and that  sector doesnt seem to be a big priority for change, growth rates have slowed down too
  • the other issue is that off the fact that most of the relevant funds meant for BOP segment , never reached them due to siphoning
  • add to this most of the development moves have happened in Urban cities
  • most of the riches were accumalated from largely regulated industries so the catching up from wealth from services sector is just happening
here is what is being done :::

the banking, jan dhan yojana , the adhar card inclusion of the population and the Mobile banking licenses  and the endless possibilities with mobile , all termed as "JAM "trinity , should help in enabling money reaching the right people to start with , along with attempts to spread entrapreunarship , getting agriculture back on track with productvity increase measure and right pricing mechanisim for the farmers  should help .

Incredible india = 50% super rich + 50 % haves , will be an ideal state , will it happen in our life time , lets hope so ! cheers !

Well written. Awesome read. I love the optimism with which the article ends. I really wish it comes true. We definitely need another green revolution to accelerate agricultural output like u highlighted.

Financial literacy is also critical development required along with opening of accounts.

I also got an idea while reading your article. We will have to find innovative ways of making agricultural land a supplier of solar power . Am sure not every farmer has 3crops a year. This sale of power will also add to farmer incomes and increase energy security for the country.
