..its an ever interesting topic the dynamics of buying ! termed as B(u)ynamics a number of books have been written on this .

Well fact remains that buying these days has no occasions like the good old times ,these days there are 365 days occasions , the festivals are just one reason for buying More and not the ONLY buying reason like in the past . So what makes us BUY or Buy more ! here is our take on B(u)ynamics !

others have it ! so i will have it too ::,classic one that would clearly elaborate this is the recent Ipod phenomenon or the good old walkman , you need to be the in thing ! u c

buying is like eating out !:: it happens at the spur of the moment and is completely unplanned these days unless there is a an important occasion like a wedding , travel ,monthly shopping etc .


Plastic money ! ::more Indian's are surely getting enrolled into credit or debit card lure , numbers in terms of cardholders are low , but are shooting up .As long as it was cash deals alone we were under check now there is not much control .

Stress level !:: this one mite be debatable , more consumers are stressed out than earlier, for instance a drive back from office to home that was considered to be a peaceful activity , well not anymore , more consumers are looking at shopping as a good blanket on the everyday stress .So u end up buying more than you want just to get that good feeling of getting something new , though that purchase mite not be necessary at that moment .

Offers ! ::the other reason for buying ( more ) is some good offer that's running , most retailers are undercutting prices below than the MRP ( hope brands are aware of these moves ! ) hitting directly at small kirana store for sure , so when one walks in to these outlets and see some attractive deals you walk in to the well laid trap .Plus if you see value you buy more or unplanned items , the combo deal usually works !

Buy because its New , lets try !:: We Buy when we see or communicated about a new feature /product and there is great urge of lets try it , which leads to the Buy ! Buy because I have arrived .. consumer buy certain high end products to make the I have arrived statement it could be a SUV or the latest LCD /Plasma TV , a spanking bungalow etc , so yes i have these ,thus i have arrived !

SALE ! ::people throng to buy when they hear this 4 letter word SALE ! anything on discount kindles the Buy urge

I didnt want it ,but was sold to me !:: We tend to generally trust other human beings , so when salesman says good things about you which connects with you and the product your ego boost ends up closing the sale, "say for your fair skin this cream would make it fairer" , you build a emotional connect with the funcationality and out comes the money , or say "why a insurance policy best fits your high profile life ", thus boosting your ego and hooking you on !

Appearance makes the difference ! :: what looks good generally gets in the shopping bag for sure , plus jo diktha hey woh biktha hey

shopping cart :: and see the items per customer go up when you have a shopping cart with u , its a standard retail sell more per customer program !
