Rudholph the Reindeer -Invented to drive Sales in Montgomery Ward Stores , Idea was to give a kids book free with  Sales in the stores , it turned out to be a big hit !


Black Friday - Started by retailers to generate interest in a big way , the "black"day was also an attempt to move on from the connection with discounting or losses with "Red "

Sending Kit Kat to Japanese students , started due to similarity of KitKat and Japanese term Kitto Katusu , which means "you will surely win", and the Japanese used this connection to wish students using Kit Kat as good wishes

The Red Santa , while it does give you a mythical feeling , it came up via Coca Cola in a big way , to sell their bottles of course..And add to it Secret Santa ,games too now .

Singles Day - started by Chinese Singles Student , is a harmless way to go find a partner for all singles on 11/11 , its become a huge buying day in the US , almost $24 billion dollar spends in 2016 in a single day !!! , single consumers are prodded to buy MORE gifts for themselves !

Gold Tritya -the Indian Rush to buy Jewellery is a big Marketing turned success ,considering the auspicious nature of the day of Akshya Tritya

Valentines Day -of course the very famous Marketeers Big Day , which cuts across categories and cultures now !
